mangoes

the problem with mangoes is that they smell wonderful. their skin is so tantalizing, and their flesh cries out to be bitten. in fact, it's hard to take only one mouthful...

however for a specific group of people, eating mangoes can cause an interesting allergic reaction. and here's a random link about that.

the problem is that even if the person who is allergic stops eating the now-forbidden fruit, the memory remains. the mouth-watering memory that sometimes defies logic; the person might sit down and enjoy the mango, with his/her favorite brand of anti-histamine + emergency contact number at his/her side. no i'm not even joking, i promise you.

it isn't sane, but it happens. and not just with fruit either. ...now where did i put my benadryl...

oh my burning eyes!!

for those who wonder, the wounds are beginning to heal. last night some of the scar tissue pulled a little and that hurt like fyah fyah, but i think that if i can keep from bothering it, i'll be alright. it's funny though, you make a movement without thinking and then there is massive pain. oops.

in other news, here is one example of why i love the onion. and here is a second.

let the reader beware that the first link does contain material perhaps not suitable for small children. heck, after seeing the pics, i'm pretty sure that it's not really suitable for older children, grown folk, or the elderly either. lol! now the second link, while funny, reminds me of a discussion that takes place here on a semi-regular basis. the relevant discussions aren't nearly as amusing as that onion link, but it's good to keep up with what folk are thinking i suppose. that way one's lies can become that much better. lol. oh it hurts to laugh! danggit.

oblivion

i'd love a little of that now...

or a hella lot of white noise...

or a few steps perpendicular to everything/one else...

sharp implements

umm, yeah, so two posts in as many days... perhaps it's the fever. lol!

i can understand why some ones might cut themselves. because sometimes the blood is the only thing that belongs to one. feelings might be taken from outside sources, but blood comes from within. so as it drips, at least one knows that is real and that it belongs.

things folk say...

as i was perusing libé, i saw an article on alternative methods of procreation. and one of the people mentioned said that it was "tellement injuste de ne pas pouvoir avoir mon enfant biologique juste parce que je ne pouvais pas le porter." umm, yes the woman was right. it is extremely unfair. but you know what? that, my friend, is life. life is unfair. suck it up and deal. the rest of us have to do this on a daily basis. why not you?

okay, i realize i'm being a little unfair. but i keep thinking, why do we always have to whine about the unfairness of life, as if it was a big surprise? is it really a novel idea that life is not fair?? somehow i think not.

best of luck to the 6 cases mentioned in the article. personally, i see no real reason for doctors to be involved with them except to do the procedure. or rather, the morality behind the decision to proceed in the procedure is something for the doctors not to be a part of; the decision (moral vs immoral) belongs squarely to the patients.
